The Atlanta Hawks Season Ahead

The 08'-09' season for the Atlanta Hawks was bitter sweet for the most part. While the team improved upon their previous season, the playoff perform against the Cleveland Cavaliers wasn't what the Hawks team hoped for.

The Hawks finished with a 47-35 record season and defeated the Miami Heat in the first round in 7 games.

Much of the team's success in 2008-2009 can be attributed to Joe Johnson and Al Horford, two talented individuals who have had a profound impact upon the success of this team.

Johnson is a prolific shooter, especially from the perimeter, and Horford is an exceptional, multi-faceted basketball player whose presence has dominated the team greatly during his two seasons in the league. This is the man to build the team around for years to come.

It will be very tough to over take the Orlando Magic in the Southeast division this season. While the Magic have some new pieces in place surrounding Dwight Howard - they are still the favorites.

One of the major concerns for the Hawks was the lack of scoring on offense - out of the 30 NBA teams the Hawks were the nineteenth in scoring, which for a playoff team isn't acceptable. If the Hawks ever hope to reach the Eastern Conference Finals their scoring must improve.

The only concern I see is the lack of scoring for this team. They must improve on putting up bigger points if they want to make some noise.

Coming out of the East won't be easy and the Hawks will have to fight and claw their way through the upcoming season.

Cast includes Tommy Kirk, Annette Funicello, Dorothy Lamour, Elsa Lanchester, Harvey Lembeck, Jody McCrea, Buster Keaton, Susan Hart, and Donna Loren. (85 minutes,'84)

Delusion: This is a hard, tight thriller in reference to a yuppie computer executive-embezzler and his plight after seeing a Las Vegas show girl and her hit man boyfriend (Secor, in an eye-opening acting job) on a Death Valley freeway committing a murder. Cast includes Jim Metzler, Jennifer Rubin, Kyle Secor, Robert Costanzo, Tracey Walter, and Jerry Orbach. (100 minutes,'90)

Cuban Rebel Girls: This is Flynn's last film, and is an embarrassment. Playing himself, he assists Fidel Castro in his overthrow of Batista. The film is filmed on location throughout the Castro rebellion. Of interest only to see Flynn teamed with his very last lady friend, sixteen-year-old Aadland. Cast includes Errol Flynn, Beverly Aadland, John McKay, and Marie Edmund. (68 minutes,'59)

The King of Comedy: A pungent black comedy in reference to a show business hanger-on and total loser who cherishes America's top Television comic talk show host and orchestrates a weird plan to get some air time. Barfly: A surprisingly entertaining portrayal of L.A. lowlife, and boozy, recklessly macho author Henry Chinaski, played with bravado by Rourke. Dunaway is magnificent as his alcoholic soul mate. Based on the autobiographical writings of cult top choice Charles Bukowski, who might be noticed on one of the bar stools. Cast includes Mickey Rourke, Faye Dunaway, Alice Krige, Jack Nance, J.C. Lilo and Stitch: Forlorn Hawaiian gal being brought up by her older sibling finds a doubtful buddy at the dog pound an alien whom she names Sew. Step #2 Don?t set your heart on learning to fly unless you are of 16 years of age or older. If you are not then do not give up your dream, there are still some other prepatory things to put in place if you are soon going to becoming of age.

Step#3 Find out exactly what the current medical requirements for your country are in regards to obtaining your pilots license. It would be most unfortunate if you left this until the end of your lessons then found out you do not qualify medically.

Step#4 Do some research. You need to locate flying schools in your area or an area where you could attend. If there are several then it means more research by comparison. If you only have a couple then your choices are limited. It does not matter even if there is only one though as all flying schools must follow the same government rules and regulations for pilots. The only minor differences you will find in the schools are perhaps the extras they offer. If these are important to you then part of your decision may be based on this.
