Discover Seven Popular Film Commentary For You To Choose From

By Muriel Powers

Times have sure changed. Now there are so many options to be had to watch movies that each person can have any movie they want at any time that they want. That is especially true with downloading movies. You can now download a movie in the solitude of your own house any time that you want. Pretty astounding taking into account that only 25 years ago or so we couldn't have movies at home at all!

Big Trouble in Little China - Buddy Blowhard trucker Russell finds himself at large in Chinatown, while a buddy's fiance is kidnapped right in front of his eyes. High tech Indiana Jones fashion venture has huge tongue-in-cheek manner, however everything else in reference to it is large, too including Russell's John Wayne swagger. Tremendous electric music score. The cast includes Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, James Hong, Champ Wong, and Kate Burton. (99 minutes,'86)

Red - Very last film in Kieslowski's "3 Colors" trilogy which, like Blue and White, might stand alone with its self contained tale. Fashion model Jacob meets upset, retired magistrate Trintignant by mistake, then creates a relationship with him and enters his secluded, secret life. Set in Geneva, this is a story of few intertwined lives. Cast includes Irene Jacob, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Frederique Feder, Jean-Pierre Lorit, Juliette Binoche, Julie Delpy, and Benoit Regent. (99 minutes,'94)

Alfie - Well redone interpretation of Bill Naughton play he additionally wrote. Caine is great as philandering Cockney playboy who is put in a very demanding situation. Cast includes Michael Caine, Shelley Winters, Millicent Marin, Julia Foster, Jane Asher, Shirley Anne Field, Graham Stark, and Murray Melvin. (114 minutes,'66)

Adam's Apples - This movie is a odd mysterious comedy about two very dissimilar men who have a clash of wills. It is a recently developed religious fanatic versus a hard core neo-Nazi criminal. The battle of good versus evil is on. The main stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Brom, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)

Airheads - 3 metal heads with toy guns unwillingly take a radio station prisoner, wanting to get airtime for their one and only demo tape. Not exactly the most demanding subject to parody, although the script is weak anyway. A rather vigorous direction and compact running time help a bit. (91 minutes,'94)

Aladdin - Disney's animated Arabian Days storyline is refined through the feeling of an old Warner Bros. animation, as Aladdin summons up a Genie who is exploding with shtick. Williams' entertaining fast fire shtick forms the attraction of this otherwise conventional tale, colorfully (and tunefully) shown. Cast includes Voices of Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Frank Welker, Gilbert Gottfried, Douglas Seale and the harmonizing voices of Brad Kand and Lea Salonga. (90 minutes,'92)

Afurika Monogatari - Guide Sayer crashes his aircraft in wilds of Africa and comes upon a game preserve. Even old Jimmy is dull. The film was filmed in Kenya. Cast includes James Stewart, Philip Sayer, Eleanora Vallone, and Heekura Simba. (120 minutes,'81)

The single thought that over and over again comes up is the fact that a film that you download will take up room on your hard drive. You may want to transfer it to a disc so that you can remove it from your PC depending on how much room you have on your hard drive and what you use it for.
