Will Kurt Warner Lead the Arizona Cardinals to the 2009 Playoffs?

By Peter Abrams

The Arizona Cardinals had the strongest finish in the NFC last season. While the team barely made the playoffs, this didn't matter much once the post season had arrived.

The Arizona Cardinals are notorious for losing year after year and not spending money on the "big time" players. These last few years have proved to be different ironically.

The front office for the Cardinals has loaded the team with Pro Bowl players and potential Pro Bowl players such as WR Larry Fitzgerald, WR Anquan Boldin, RB Tim Hightower, and WR Steve Breaston. WR Larry Fitzgerald might be the best WR in the NFL today and has seemingly has unparalleled leaping ability.

The 09' Cardinals haven't looked like the team that made the miraculous run at the end of the 08' season thus far. Is there such thing as the "Super Bowl Hangover"? Many people believe so. The Cardinals have a very talented offense with WR Larry Fitzgerald, WR Anquan Boldin, WR Steve Breaston, and RB Tim Hightower - therefore, one would assume their potent offense will explode and score in bunches quickly.

Entering week 2, the Cardinals knew they'd have to make an impact if they wanted to set themselves down the right path. And that they did in Jacksonville against the Jaguars.

The Cardinals defense is one of the lowest ranked in the NFL, but they are holding opponents to a low rushing total per game. Despite the bad start to the Cardinals 09' season, there is still time to turn things around.

The Cardinals have an average schedule which shouldn't be too difficult, playing the St. Louis Rams twice and Detroit Lions should give the Cardinals games to rack up wins.
